Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 35-06 for the furnishing of lawn maintenance equipment and small engine replacement parts and service for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments, for the upcoming twenty-four month period, with two twelve-month options for extension; and,
WHEREAS, a total of thirty-nine notifications were distributed, eight bid packages requested by potential bidders, and two responses received from the following vendors:
Lawn & Leisure
Lee's Summit, MO
Smith Tools & Fasteners
Kansas City (Clay County), MO
and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids submitted, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the contract be awarded to Lawn and Leisure of Lee's Summit, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best overall bid; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary, including future options to extend, to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract and extensions, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using agencies are contained in the annual County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
