Body
WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kansas City is the surviving entity resulting from a merger of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City and the Boys & Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County and the surviving entity has a West Side Unit and an East Side Unit to serve County residents; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with prior requests $25,000.00 for the funding of the former entity, Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County, was appropriated in the 2005 budget, but since no proposal was ever received from that former entity, no agreement was ever executed; and,
WHEREAS, the County and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City-East Side Unit, as the successor to that former entity, has submitted a proposal to enter into an Agreement whereunder the County will contract for services for the previously appropriated amount of $25,000.00 with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City-East Side Unit for the Project Learn program which will focus on improving academic achievement and commitment to school; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute an agreement on behalf of the County to provide $25,000.00 for the Project Learn Program in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
