Body

WHEREAS, the American Public Works Association (APWA) provides accreditation to cities nationwide by reviewing over 500 best management practices in areas such as engineering, projects design, construction, financing, personnel training, strategic planning, traffic operations, and communication with the public; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Lee's Summit was the sixteenth of twenty cities nationwide, the first city in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, and the second city in the State of Missouri receiving accreditation; and,

WHEREAS, Chuck Owsley, Director of Public Works for the City of Lee's Summit, and his Public Works team deserve public recognition for their extraordinary efforts in obtaining this important achievement; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the City of Lee's Summit Public Works Department for its accreditation by the American Public Works Association, and acknowledges the efforts of Chuck Owsley and his Public Works team on a job well done.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
