Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17534, dated March 7, 2011, the Legislature did authorize an agreement with Catholic Charities to provide for assistance to homeless persons during 2011, at a cost to the County not to exceed $10,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, due to a miscommunication, Catholic Charities inadvertently submitted its invoices for reimbursement of homeless assistance payments after its 2011 agreement had been closed in the County's finance system; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17796, dated January 23, 2012, the Legislature did authorize an agreement with Catholic Charities to provide for assistance to homeless persons for 2012, in the amount of $10,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, Catholic Charities 2012 agreement has not yet been executed and to allow it to cover its unreimbursed expenses from 2011, it is recommended that the unspent 2011 funds be rolled into its 2012 agreement, thereby allowing Catholic Charities to cover expenses for 2011 and 2012; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this agreement, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation within the 2012 Homeless Assistance Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with Catholic Charities in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the portion of Resolution 17796, dated January 23, 2012, related to authorizing an agreement with Catholic Charities at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00 is hereby rescinded; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
