Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3111, dated December 4, 2000, the County did accept a grant in the amount of $1,170,484.38 from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the Prosecuting Attorney's "Night Lights/Sentenced to the Arts" program; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance 3111 also authorized an agreement with the Pan-Education Institute, to serve as the intermediary between the County and the school districts and artists involved in the program; and,
WHEREAS, due to an oversight, the agreement with the Institute authorized by Ordinance 3111 contemplated the payment of only $48,750, which is the amount agreed upon to compensate the Institute for its administrative expenses; and,
WHEREAS, it is also necessary that the County pay over to the Institute the sum of $572,011.47, the majority of which is to be "passed through" by the Institute to the school districts, residential units, group homes, and artists involved in the program; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Addendum to Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the remainder of the understanding of the parties; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute the attached Addendum to Agreement with the Pan-Educational Institute, Inc; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement and Addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
