Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 12396, dated October 19, 1998, and Resolution 14257, dated July 15, 2002, the County and Local 96, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) are parties to a Memorandum of Understanding which governs the terms and conditions of employment of members of Local 96's bargaining unit; and,
WHEREAS, Local 96, Service Employees International Union, has transferred its public sector bargaining unit to Local 2000 of the Service Employees International Union (Local 2000, SEIU); and,
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding expired December 31, 2004 but its terms continue to be in effect until a successor Memorandum of Understanding is approved; and,
WHEREAS, the County and Service Employees International Union, Local 2000, have recently concluded the negotiation of a successor memorandum of understanding which will be effective until December 31, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding reflects the entire agreement and understanding of the parties; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with Local 2000, Service Employees International Union.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
