A RESOLUTION recognizing Audrey Bullard for her service as Dean of Education for the Afrikan Centered Taskforce, Inc., and congratulating her upon her retirement.

Body

WHEREAS, Audrey Bullard is the Dean of Education for the Afrikan Centered Taskforce,  Inc. (ACETI), whose goal is to provide a growing number of Kansas City, Missouri School District students with a positive learning environment through the use of the African- Centered Education Model; and,

 

WHEREAS, as Dean, Audrey supervised and directed campus academic organization and daily operation plans, acted as an administrative liaison between ACETI and the Kansas City, Missouri School District, and established a campus environment of safety and  high academic and social expectations conducive to teaching and learning; and,

 

WHEREAS, Audrey is an accomplished educator, administrator, and nationally recognized expert in African Centered leadership who has gained local and national recognition for her role in starting the first African-Centered public school in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, J.S. Chick African Centered Elementary Shule (School); and,

 

WHEREAS, Audrey has used her educational and administrative skills to close the achievement gap between black and white students by addressing instructional perceptions such as limited intelligence, low expectations, ineffective teaching strategies, and research-based barriers that obstruct the student learning process; and,

 

WHEREAS, Audrey earned her undergraduate degree from Texas College in Tyler, Texas,  her graduate degree from Webster University in Missouri, and an educational specialist degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City; and,

 

WHEREAS, Audrey's family has been involved in the education field, with a retired administrator husband and two children who are also working in education; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and commends Audrey Bullard upon her retirement from the Afrikan Centered Collegium Campus, thanks her for her service to this community, and wishes her the best in all future endeavors.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
