Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West High School Cheerleaders won the Missouri State Cheerleading Championship, held September 15, 2013, at the University of Missouri - Columbia; and,
WHEREAS, this is the squad's first state championship in Lee's Summit West's ten year history; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West Cheerleading squad will now advance to the National High School Cheerleading Championship to be held at Walt Disney World Resort , Orlando, FL, on February 8 - 9, 2014, as the first cheerleading squad in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District to advance to the nationals; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West Cheerleading squad is led by Coaches Lori Setley and Sarah Pyle; and,
WHEREAS, Coach Setley describes the squad as a phenomenal group with such great talent that it makes coaching them a wonderful experience that she would not trade for the world; and,
WHEREAS, the varsity team members are, Alyssa Camacho, Rachel Carnes, Stacie Chatman, JeKayla Curtis, Amy Danaher, Ashton Dobson, Megan Finneseth, Lina Gutierrez, Tori Haas, Anna Hadley, Matthew Hall, Chloe King, Rylie Michael, Sydney Miller, Chima Okafor, Jasmine Okafor, Alecea Stricklin, Kylie Taylor, Elle Willis, Hayley York; and,
WHEREAS, the parents and classmates of the Lee's Summit West High School Cheerleaders are proud of the team's outstanding showing in the tournament; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates the Lee's Summit West High School Cheerleaders on winning the Missouri State Cheerleading Championship.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
