A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an employee assistance program agreement for group employee assistance program (EAP) pursuant to Resolution 15190 for 1350 County employees at a cost to the County not to exceed $31,104.00 and further authorizing said agreement to include provisions for services for 157 Circuit Court employees at a cost to the Circuit Court not to exceed $3,617.28 for 2005 for a total contract cost not to exceed $34,721.28.

Body
WHEREAS, New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) provided employee assistance to County Employees beginning in 2004; and,
WHEREAS, this program was approved by Resolution 14748, dated October 6, 2003; and approved for continuation for 2005 for Jackson County employees by Resolution 15190, dated October 12, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri desires to include 157 of its employees in the program as funded by the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive and New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) are in agreement with the inclusion of the Circuit Court employees as funded by the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) will provide up to 6 face to face counseling sessions, a live 24/7 help line, an interactive web site, up to 10 hours of on-site training, up to 10 hours of on-site critical incident crisis intervention, and unlimited telephonic management consultation to 1350 County and 157 Circuit Court employees; and,
WHEREAS, the County's health insurance brokers, CBIZ and the McDaniel Hazley Group, have previously recommended that the County continue to offer the New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) Employee Assistance Program to County employees at the following rate for the 2005 plan year:

therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the agreement with New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) for an employee assistance program previously authorized by Resolution 15190 as described above at a monthly rate of $1.92 per employee per month for 1350 Jackson County employees and 157 Circuit Court employees.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
