RESOLUTION NO. 21344, July 17, 2023

 

INTRODUCED BY  DaRon McGee, Megan L. Marshall, Jalen Anderson, Donna Peyton, Manuel Abarca IV, Venessa Huskey, Charlie Franklin, Jeanie Lauer, and Sean E. Smith, County Legislators

 

Body

 WHEREAS, this summer, the County Legislature partnered with the ProX program to provide four area high school students with summer professional work experience through a paid internship working with the Legislature; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dawn Hickman and Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan, Legislative Aides, have exemplified outstanding commitment and devotion to mentoring the ProX Legislative interns; and,

 

WHEREAS, their willingness to share their knowledge, expertise, and experience served as an invaluable resource for the interns, fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dawn and Rebeca demonstrated unwavering perseverance, always going above and beyond to ensure that the interns received guidance and support throughout their internship; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dawn and Rebeca exhibited initiative and persistence in facing the unique challenges involved with organizing and developing the internship program; and,

WHEREAS, Dawn and Rebeca’s dedication to the ProX Legislative interns has not only contributed to the interns’ individual development but has also instilled a sense of purpose, motivation, and passion for public service; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dawn and Rebeca demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and compassion, serving as role models and mentors for the interns, inspiring them to pursue excellence in their future endeavors; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature recognizes the profound impact of their mentoring efforts, which have helped shape the future leaders of our community and contribute to the overall betterment of our society; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dawn Hickman and Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan for their exceptional dedication, willingness, and perseverance in the face of the numerous challenges they overcame in mentoring the ProX Legislative interns.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
