WHEREAS, Jaime Guillen has been a dedicated and invaluable associate of Jackson County since 2007, when he began working as a legislative aide; and,
WHEREAS, in 2020, the Legislature appointed Jaime as the County’s Chief Compliance Review Officer, in recognition of his exceptional leadership skills and commitment to upholding compliance and accountability; and,
WHEREAS, under Jaime’s leadership, the County witnessed the establishment of an electronic Affirmative Action reporting process, fostering transparency and inclusivity in the workforce; and,
WHEREAS, Jaime’s role as Chief Compliance Officer led to the creation and successful implementation of the County’s minority- and women’s- business enterprise program (MBE/WBE), which continues to have a positive impact on economic equity and inclusion within the community; and,
WHEREAS, Jaime’s achievements culminated in the expansion of the County’s Compliance Office, doubling the workforce, and streamlining project and contract monitoring processes for enhanced efficiency; and,
WHEREAS, Jaime’s appointment as the Director of the City of Kansas City's Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department signifies a momentous milestone for the community, as he becomes the first Latino Director in a decade, reinforcing the importance of diversity and representation in leadership roles; and,
WHEREAS, as Jaime embarks on this next chapter in his life, the Legislature and his co-workers acknowledge and celebrate his achievements and contributions to Jackson County and will miss his knowledge, expertise, and sense of humor; and,
WHEREAS, Jaime’s wife Christina and their three children, Aaliyah, Jaime II, and Julian, have been a constant source of support and are justifiably proud of his accomplishments; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby extends its gratitude to Jaime Guillen for his service to Jackson County and offers its best wishes on his new position as the Director of the City of Kansas City's Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
