WHEREAS, by Resolution 12965, dated November 29, 1999, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreements with the Cities of Raytown, Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit, and Grandview, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16332, dated June 18, 2007, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to extend those services; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri had continued to provide Collection services only until 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive now recommends the execution of the 2026 Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreement to provide consolidated property tax billing and reciprocal tax collection services with the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreement attached hereto adequately sets out the rights and duties of the parties; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreement with the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at no cost to the County.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
