A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Legal Services Agreement with Gilmore & Bell PC of Kansas City, MO for Bond Counsel services to be performed regarding Special Obligation Bonds for University Health.

RESOLUTION NO. 22397, September 14, 2026

 

INTRODUCED BY Donna Peyton, County Legislator

Body

 WHEREAS, the County Executive requests authorization to execute a Legal Services Agreement with Gilmore & Bell PC of Kansas City, MO to provide bond obligation services to the County in certain new and ongoing matters; and,

WHEREAS, the Scope of Engagement and fees are outlined in a Letter of Engagement that is provided as an attachment; and,

 

WHEREAS, this Legal Services Agreement is for the furnishing of Bond Counsel services related to Special Obligation Bonds for University Health matters for services to be performed; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive and the County Counselor be and hereby are authorized to execute a Legal Services Agreement with the lawyers and/or law firms identified in this Resolution; and,

 

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds to compensate Gilmore & Bell PC of Kansas City, MO will be made available through funds sourced from the Special Obligation Bonds for University Health and that this will come at no cost from the County budget, however the amount is not to exceed $250,000.00; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payments, on the Agreement and AddendumsEnacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
