Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North High School boys track and field team, the Broncos, was recently given a No. 2 national ranking by Nike; and,
WHEREAS, the Nike national teams are chosen and ranked according to the team's athletes' personal best times or distances during the year in ten events; and,
WHEREAS, the Broncos placed third at state, only 2.5 points out of first place and the highest point total for a third place finish in the history of Missouri track and field; and,
WHEREAS, top performers for the Broncos team include:

Scott Betsher Pole vault 15 feet
Corey Stewart Discus 152 feet, 4 inches
Andre Echols Shotput 56 feet, 4.5 inches
and,
WHEREAS, the team is coached by Kris Solsberg and assistant coaches Tavish Whiting, Tom Jordan, Eric Davis, Andy Morris, Cam Clover, Ryan Shortino; and,
WHEREAS, the Broncos team and coaches deserve recognition for their exceptional talents and achievements as a nationally recognized track and field team; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit North boys track and field team for its dedication and hard work and for its notable achievement of attaining Nike's No. 2 national ranking.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
