Body
WHEREAS, Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) has been awarded a grant in the amount of $96,000.00 as part of the a federal program to conduct a Regional Bikeway Transportation Plan for participating counties located in Kansas and Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Regional Bikeway Transportation Plan will assist participating counties in the development of regional bikeway corridors to improve biking networks between communities; and,
WHEREAS, MARC's grant requires a twenty percent match divided between participating counties, with Jackson County's share being $3,600.00; and,
WHEREAS, execution of the attached Cooperative Agreement , which will implement this funding arrangement, is the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with Mid-America Regional Council, to provide for a Regional Bikeway Transportation Plan, at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,600.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
