Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinance #1771, #1795 and #1941 to make recom mendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program to provide intensive services to children who have been sexually abused by parents or caretakers who are involved with drugs; and,
WHEREAS, the CASA program has received grant funding in 1993, 1994, and 1995 for this project upon the recommendation of the Fiscal Commission; and
WHEREAS, CASA submitted a renewal grant match proposal for this funding for its work with families involved with substance abuse from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund in the amount of $10,000; and,
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1995- 96 proposal from CASA; and
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has recommended grant match funding in the amount of $10,000.00 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for CASA's proposal; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to enter into the attached agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with CASA.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
