Body
WHEREAS, the City of Blue Springs has initiated a community-wide event involving its schools, churches, and local businesses; and,
WHEREAS, this event, intended to become an annual occasion, honors a family within the community who has displayed traditional and wholesome family values as a lifestyle; and,
WHEREAS, a Family of the Year award has been instituted to be given to one special family, in honor of the special qualities they uphold; and,
WHEREAS, the 1999 recipient of Blue Springs' Family of the Year award is the Christensen family; and,
WHEREAS, members of the family include Ray and Rinda Christensen, their six adopted children, Lisa, Kenny, Jay, Sunny, Analee, and Devin, and five grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, the Christensens put into practice their belief that a unified family stems from communication, trust, unity, and mutual support; and,
WHEREAS, they have hosted many foreign exchange students and several foster children, and have centered their lives around their church and each other; and,
WHEREAS, congratulations go out to the Christensen family for maintaining a lifestyle fitting to be honored by such a prestigious award; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Christensen family upon receiving the 1999 Blue Springs Family of the Year award.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
