IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

AN ORDINANCE appropriating $40,000.00 from the fund balance of the 2009 General Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc., for partial funding of its 2009 annual delegate convention, at an actual cost to the County of $40,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc., desire to enter into an agreement whereunder the County will pay $40,000.00 to the convention, to be used for partial funding of its 2009 annual delegate convention in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the County funding will specifically be used to design and implement a convention program and promotional materials which will highlight and publicize the attractions of the Kansas City/Jackson County area to the convention's 30,000 plus delegates; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to cover these costs; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the fund balance of the 2009 General Fund:

and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc., in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
