Body
WHEREAS, the purpose of this committee is to develop a long-term vision, strategic plan, and budget for public transportation within and throughout Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, key priorities of the committee will include exploring potential funding opportunities, ensuring equitable access to transit services, and receiving regular updates, and reports from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and other relevant regional transit agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the committee will serve as a forum for coordination, oversight, and legislative engagement in the planning and advancement of public transportation initiatives across the county; and,
WHEREAS, this ad hoc committee is authorized by Rule 10 of the Legislature and shall consist of members of the Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Rule 10, the Chairman of the Legislature shall designate one member as the chairman of the committee; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the ad hoc Regional Transportation Committee is hereby established, with such membership, duties and responsibilities as are set out in this Resolution.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
