Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office desires to purchase an armored tactical rescue vehicle to meet departmental needs and replace their current armored system; and,
WHEREAS, the vehicle is needed to assist and respond to critical incidents and within incorporated areas of Jackson County and seven other municipalities within the Jackson County jurisdiction to which Jackson County provides critical services: City of Buckner, City of Grain Valley, City of Greenwood, City of Lake Lotawana, City of Lake Tapawingo, City of Lone Jack and the City of Oak Grove; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office and Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the furnishing of an armored tactical vehicle to Lenco Industries, Inc. of Pittsfield, MA, under the terms and conditions of GSA Contract No. GS-07F-169DA, an existing competitively bid government contract, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $346,789.00; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Sheriff’s Office and Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award under the existing competitively bid government contract for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of significant discounts offered to larger entities; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is needed to place the funds necessary for the purchase of this equipment in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, the following transfer be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award be made under the existing competitively bid government contract as recommended by the Sheriff’s Office and the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
