Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase mobile radios for use by the Department of Public Works; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.05 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the purchase of mobile radios from Motorola Communications of Overland Park, KS, under an existing state of Nebraska government contract; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984 requires, that for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this purchase a transfer within the 1996 Special Road and Bridge Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends such transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the following transfer be and hereby is made within the 1996 Special Road and Bridge Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the purchase under the existing government contract be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
