A RESOLUTION awarding a contract for the purchase of new rifles and declaring as surplus, existing rifles to use as trade-in for the Sheriff’s Office to Precision Arms of Indiana, LLC, dba PAI Defense of Columbia City, IN, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid No. 26-035 at a cost to the County not to exceed $52,356.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has a need to replace older model Windham Weaponry SRC 16 M4 5.56 rifles; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office no longer has a need for the old rifles, as further described and itemized in the attached form; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that said
property be declared surplus and traded-in to offset the cost of replacement rifles; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 26-035 for replacement rifles for use by the Sheriff's Office; and,
WHEREAS, bid notifications were distributed, with six (6) responses received and evaluated from the following;

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Sheriff and Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the purchase of new rifles to Precision Arms of Indiana, LLC, dba PAI Defense of Columbia City, IN as the lowest and best bid received; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Sheriff and the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing that the Interim Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have been made in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
