Body
WHEREAS, Rev. James A. Terrance, Jr., began his pastoring ministry in 1990, and was licensed by Shiloh Baptist Church of Port Allen, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Rev. Terrance was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and served as Pastor of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, St. Alma Baptist Church of Lakeland, Louisiana, and Antioch Baptist Church of Brusly, Louisiana, before beginning his service as the 7th Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in February 2003; and,
WHEREAS, Rev. Terrance guides the Friendship Baptist Church membership into the community with ministries such as Adopt A School, Block to Block, Scholarship, and Evangelism; and,
WHEREAS, the mission of Friendship Baptist Church is to fulfill the great Commission by sharing the love of God in Christ with every person through evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship; and,
WHEREAS, Rev. Terrance has become a member of various religious and community organizations since arriving in Kansas City, including the Concerned Clergy of Kansas City, MO, The Minister's Union of Kansas City, MO, New Era District Association, Missionary Baptist State Convention of Missouri, and the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, Rev. James A. Terrance, Jr., has been married to his wife, First Lady Prentice H. Terrance, for thirteen years, and they have two sons, Jalen Ashton and Tyler James; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and congratulates Rev. James A. Terrance, Jr., for his outstanding dedication and service to the community and to Friendship Baptist Church throughout the years and extends best wishes for his future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
