Body
WHEREAS, Move Up's Fighting Back program collaborates with neighborhood residents, community groups and resource providers to restore neighborhoods to safe, drug-free, economically viable communities; and,
WHEREAS, the Fighting Back program is supported by a grant from the United States Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, in the amount of $100,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a $100,000.00 local match; and,
WHEREAS, Move Up has requested anti-drug sales tax funds in the amount of $50,000.00, as a portion of the local match to this grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with Move Up for this grant program, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
