Body

WHEREAS, Restart, Inc., provides emergency shelter and outreach to homeless children and youth at risk for drug and alcohol abuse, including individual and group counseling, assessments, and education; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Restart, Inc., program is funded by a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $200,000.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match; and

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of $44,153.00 in Anti-Drug Sales Tax funds to serve as a portion of the required local match; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with Restart, Inc., to provide a local  match to a federal grant at a cost to the County not to exceed $44,153.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this agreement.

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
