IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Prosecuting Attorney to execute an Agreement with United Inner City Services, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00. Intro RESOLUTION #10739, March 27, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and, WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and, WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2214, dated July 12, 1993, the Legislature authorized the Prosecuting Attorney to provide the local matching funds to federal, state, and private grants to programs ser ing the purposes of the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of drug and drug-related offenses; nd, WHEREAS, United Inner City Services has requested matching funds in the amount of $50,000, to match grants from the Kaufmann Foundation, in the amount of $156,710, and the Americorps, in the amount of $214,600; and, WHEREAS, United Inner City Services has been in existence for at least five years, and is otherwi e qualified to contract with the County for the expenditure of anti-drug sales tax funds; and, WHEREAS, the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney desires to assist United Inner City Services in the provision of services and has recommended the expenditure of anti-drug sales tax funds for his organization, to assist in the prevention of drug and drug-related offenses; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Agreement with United Inner City Services in the amount of $50,000.00, for the purpose of preventing drug and drug-related offenses; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of he Legislature.
