Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a need for snow and ice control materials for departmental operations; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract and two twelve-month options for extension for the furnishing of these products for use by the Public Works Department to Cargill, Inc., Deicing Technology of North Olmstead, OH, under the terms and conditions set forth in an existing government contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has determined that, due to higher volume discounts offered to larger entities, award under the existing government contract is appropriate; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1064. of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing requests approval by the Legislature of this award, which exceeds $25,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary, including future options to extend, to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
