Body
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2005, the COMBAT Commission recommended that the County provide $2,500.00 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to Graceland University for its "Solutions for Troubled Times" conference as a COMBAT sponsored event; and,
WHEREAS, this conference will address the interconnections between domestic violence and substance abuse; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement with Graceland University in a form to be approved by the County Counselor for sponsorship of the "Solutions for Troubled Times" conference at a cost to the County not to exceed $2,500; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments on the contract, including final payment.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
