Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5741, dated May 1, 2023, authorized the County to impose a countywide sales tax of three percent on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use, non-medical marijuana and authorized the Missouri Department of Revenue to begin collecting such revenues; and,
WHEREAS, the intention of the Legislature was that the proceeds would be used to fund community services, veteran services, and other public purposes authorized for the expenditure of County general revenues; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature intends that the proceeds of this tax to be allocated to the uses and County funds as set out in the attached schedule; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that it is the intent of the legislature that the proceeds of the three percent non-medical marijuana tax be allocated and spent in conformity with the attached schedule.
