AN ORDINANCE transferring $81,029.00 within and appropriating $324,115.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2007 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund, in acceptance of a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice for the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force Project for the 2007-2008 period.

Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Jackson County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force a grant in the amount of $243,086.00 for use during the period of July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2008, which requires a match from Jackson County in the amount of $81,029.00; and,
WHEREAS, the funding will provide for four (4) full-time narcotics officers from member agencies, one (1) chemist, and four leased vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary so that the proceeds of the Task Force Grant and required matching funds can be placed in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2007 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby are made:
