Body

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, §§99.880. et seq., RSMo, the council of the City of Grandview has approved its Tax Increment Financing Plan #9; and,

WHEREAS, this project will include a motorcycle dealership; and,

WHEREAS, the developer of this project, Gateway Plaza, L.L.C., the City, and the County desire to ensure that the taxes generated from economic activities within the redevelopment project area and particularly from the dealership, receive proper treatment under state law; and,

WHEREAS, to that end, the developer, the City, and the County have negotiated the attached Cooperative Agreement, which will govern as to this issue; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of this Cooperative Agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with Gateway Plaza, L.L.C., and the City of Grandview.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
