Body
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission has awarded the County the Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant in the amount of $39,229.00, which will partially fund the salary of one attorney assigned to prosecute firearms-related crimes in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, in order to complete the project, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office requires an additional $21,426.00, to be sourced from its budget; and,
WHEREAS, while the period of this grant extends for two years, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking approval of funding of this grant for a period of December 1, 2010, through November 30, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office will submit a request for an extension to use the remainder of the grant in 2011; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the matching and grant funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
