Body
WHEREAS, Vince Woods, a junior at Lee's Summit High School, won first place at the Midwest Regional Classical Singer Magazine Competition; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince is an all-state tenor and a member of the Lee's Summit High School Concert Choir and Sounds of Summit vocal groups; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince's regional win in the singing competition qualifies him for a trip to the national competition in Los Angeles in May; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince will be competing for scholarships to many of the nation's most prestigious schools; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince has participated in theater and musicals throughout high school, including various Lee's Summit High School productions and "The Sound of Music" at the New Theater restaurant; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the Missouri All-State choir and a two-time member of the Kansas City Metro All-District Choir; and,
 
WHEREAS, Vince's parents Carol and Steve Woods, sister Chelsea, and brother Jake, are justifiably proud of their son and brother; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Vince Woods for winning first place at the Midwest Regional Classical Singer Magazine Competition, and extends best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.
