Intro
RESOLUTION # 14892, January 26, 2004
INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, due to deterioration, the City of Kansas City closed the Little Blue Road Bridge over the Little Blue River in 2003; and,
WHEREAS, this closing necessitated a detour of approximately 10 miles in length and eliminated a critical western access route to Truman Medical Center; and,
WHEREAS, the City has determined that this lack of access has created an emergency, such that the construction of a temporary bridge is necessary to restore access until a permanent bridge can be constructed; and,
WHEREAS, in connection with this project, the City of Kansas City has requested a temporary easement in order to construct the temporary bridge on across the Little Blue River; and,
WHEREAS, the easement requested, a copy of which is attached hereto, grants construction access across 0.37 acres of land; and,
WHEREAS, the granting of this easement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Temporary Easement in favor of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and any and all other documents necessary in connection therewith.
