AN ORDINANCE appropriating $3,750.00 from the fund balance of the 2013 Grant Fund in acceptance of the Sheriff's Office's Youth Alcohol Enforcement grant, awarded by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a contract with the Missouri Highway Safety Division for the expenditure of the grant funds.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff=s Office has been awarded a Youth Alcohol Enforcement grant by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division, in the amount of $3,750.00, for the period October 1, 2013, through September 30, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office will use the grant funds for the purchase of ten portable breath testing devices for use in Patrol Unit vehicles to supplement the existing five portable breath testing devices currently maintained by the DWI/Traffic Unit; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2013 Grant Fund:
