A RESOLUTION congratulating Becky Blades during Women’s History Month and recognizing the leadership, accomplishments, and impact of women like her who strengthen their communities.

Body
WHEREAS, Ms. Blades has over 30 years of experience in business reputation management, creative brand building, and innovative marketing; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Blades launched her first company, Blades & Associates in 1990 and merged it with Trozzolo Communications Group in 2003; and,
WHEREAS, she is now a full-time stARTist, she is engaged in art, entrepreneurship, and business creativity, she revels in the creative process and loves to help others do the same, and,
WHEREAS, she helps businesses stART products, projects, companies, works of art, and other intellectual property; and,
WHEREAS, she is an entrepreneurial mentor and angel investor, supporting high-potential start-up businesses; and,
WHEREAS, she is an artist who makes mixed media artwork, writings, poetry, and bestselling book, “Do Your Laundry or You’ll Die Alone: Advice Your Mom Would Give if She Thought You Were Listening,” started as lighthearted advice she gave to her two daughters; and,
WHEREAS, she is a civic volunteer who supports arts infrastructure and individual artists and produces a comedy show called “Ladies Laugh Lounge,” featuring an all-female line-up; and,
WHEREAS, she has sold out all seven previous productions and is on track to sell out her eighth; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED the Jackson County Legislature recognizes Becky Blades and her accomplishments in the Jackson County community.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
