Body

WHEREAS, by Resolution 14319, dated September 23, 2002, the County did enter into a term and supply contract with J & A Traffic (formerly Allied Tube & Conduit) of Blue Springs, MO, for the furnishing of traffic signs for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreations Departments, at an estimated cost to the County of $24,000.00, with an option to extend for one year that was exercised on September 24, 2003; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended an increase to this contract in the amount of $59,285.00 revising the estimated total annual amount to $83,285.00, to cover a higher volume of usage during this extension period; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the increase to the contract be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount.  The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with certification made at that time within amounts previously budgeted for the spending agency.
