Body

 WHEREAS, Carrie King has been a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for 50 years, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being of her patients; and,

 

WHEREAS, Ms. King, driven by her vision of creating a caring and appealing environment for the elderly, including her own mother, founded the Carrie Dumas Long Term Care Facility on May 4, 1994; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Carrie Dumas Long Term Care Facility, located in the historic Santa Fe neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, has provided exemplary long-term care in an assisted living environment for the past 30 years; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Carrie Dumas Long Term Care Facility is dually licensed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Department of Mental Health and offers 34 apartments, designed to meet the diverse needs of its residents; and,

 

WHEREAS, the facility provides a comprehensive array of amenities such as daily meals, housekeeping, personal laundry, around-the-clock staff, transportation services, and daily activities, ensuring a high quality of life for its residents; and,

WHEREAS, the Carrie Dumas Care Facility offers essential assisted living services, including assistance with medical conditions, bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom assistance, medications, and other necessary support; and,

 

WHEREAS, the fee structure at the facility is thoughtfully based on the level of care required, ensuring that each resident receives appropriate and personalized care; and,

 

WHEREAS, the health care services provided by the facility includes physical therapy, speech therapy, medication management, oxygen assistance, and pharmaceutical services, enhancing the overall well-being of its residents; and,

 

WHEREAS, residents of the Carrie Dumas Care Facility enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals three times daily, with accommodations made for special dietary needs, promoting health and comfort; and,

 

WHEREAS, the facility's community design fosters social interaction and a sense of community among residents, while promoting a safe, caring, and nurturing environment that mimics the comforts of home; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Carrie Dumas Long Term Care Facility has remained a pillar of support and care in the Kansas City community for three decades, exemplifying the highest standards of long-term care; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby extends its congratulations to the Carrie Dumas Long Term Care Facility on the momentous occasion of its 30th Anniversary and extends its heartfelt appreciation to Carrie King, and her daughter Sonya Wills, Social Worker & Vice President of Operations and their dedicated team for their outstanding contributions to the community.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
