Body
WHEREAS, Joseph Chollet Devine, a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 24, has successfully completed all requirements to attain scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Joe, a scout for seven years, has served as assistant patrol leader for Troop 24 and earned 32 merit badges; and,
WHEREAS, his Eagle Scout project was to renovate the attic room of the Sacred Heart Parish for use as a youth center; and,
WHEREAS, he attended the Packard High Adventure Camp in Colorado and the National Jamboree 2001; and,
WHEREAS, he holds religious emblems, Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII; and,
WHEREAS, Joe is a first-generation scout which makes his achievement all the more remarkable; and,
WHEREAS, Joe's proud parents are Dan Devine and Michele Chollet of Kansas City, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, Joe will be recognized at his Eagle Court of Honor to be held at the Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 16, 2002, at 2:30 pm; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Joseph Chollet Devine upon successfully completing all requirements to attain scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
