WHEREAS, by Resolutions 19168 and 19169, dated June 6, 2016, the Legislature did authorize the execution of Cooperative Agreements with the Hickman Mills Prevention Coalition and the Independence Police Department to provide violent crime prevention programs through June 30, 2017, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $144,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, said agencies have requested extensions to these Cooperative Agreements through December 31, 2017, at no additional cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the recommended extensions will allow these agencies additional time to utilize the funds allocated for these prevention programs; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute extensions to the Agreements with the Hickman Mills Prevention Coalition and the Independence Police Department, until December 31, 2017, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreements and addenda thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
