Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 10640, dated February 6, 1995, the Legislature authorized the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Market Businessmen's Association, Inc., to assist in the development of River Market promotional efforts; and,
WHEREAS, it was subsequently learned that the entity "City Market Businessmen's Association, Inc." was incorrectly named and that the appropriate name should be "Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, d/b/a City Market"; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, d/b/a City Market, desire to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, whereby the County will pay the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, d/b/a City Market, $25,000.00 to be used in promotional efforts to assist in the development of the historic City Market District of Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, with the adoption of this Resolution, it is appropriate that Resolution 10640 dated February 6, 1995, be rescinded; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution 10640 dated February 6, 1995, be and hereby is rescinded.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
