RESOLUTION NO. 21685, July 29, 2024

Body

 WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec and Public Works Departments and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office all have need for animal or livestock feed and other agricultural supplies and equipment; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 24-038 for the furnishing of livestock feed, animal food, and agricultural supplies and equipment for use by various County departments; and,

 

WHEREAS, a total of 3,542 bid notifications were distributed, and one response was received and evaluated, from Feldman’s Farm and Home of Liberty, MO; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends award of a twenty-four-month term and supply contract, with one twelve-month option to extend, for the furnishing of the needed supplies to Feldman’s Farm and Home of Liberty, MO, as the lowest and best bid received; and,

 

WHEREAS the estimated spending under this contract for 2024 is $85,000.00; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

Fiscal Note

This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases is subject to annual appropriation, which is estimated for 2024 to be $85,000.00.
