Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase grounds maintenance equipment for use by the Parks and Recreation Department to provide for their needs for the upcoming twelve-month period; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the purchase of the grounds maintenance equipment from John Deere Company of Cary, NC, under the State of Oklahoma's existing Contract No. SW30190; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with certification made at that time within amounts previously budgeted for the spending agency.
