A RESOLUTION congratulating Brandon Beatty on his designation as a participant of the 20th Annual Missouri Scholars Academy.

RESOLUTION # 15108,   July 26, 2004

 

INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, Lee's Summit High School junior Brandon Beatty, son of Stanley and Patricia Beatty and brother of Courtney Beatty, has been selected to attend the 20th Annual Missouri Scholars Academy, as one of the top five percent of Missouri students academically; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Missouri Scholars Academy provides opportunities for students possessing academic excellence to develop new skills and talents in a three-week total immersion program with faculty and staff from higher education institutions across the state; and,

 

WHEREAS, Brandon's academic excellence achievements include a class ranking of 16 out of 654 students with a 4.0794 grade point average, principal's honor roll, Duke Talent Identification program member, and Missouri Leadership Conference member; and,

 

 WHEREAS, in addition to Brandon's exemplary academic achievements, Brandon is a member of the marching band, symphonic band, debate and forensics team, Generation Rap-

 

Teen Radio talk show, and an active participant in Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church as a youth radio announcer, youth group member, and youth choir member; and,

 

WHEREAS, Brandon deserves recognition as a role model of scholastic excellence  and as a valuable contributing member of the community; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Brandon Beatty on his extraordinary accomplishments and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in his endeavors now and in the future.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
