Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 61-01 for the purchase of a bituminous asphalt distributor for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, the only bid received was from G. W. Van Keppel Co., of Kansas City, MO; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to G. W. Van Keppel Co., of Kansas City, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best; and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this and other equipment has rendered an existing 1980 International cargo truck w/Etnyre distributor, Model# 1850B-AD-01, Serial Number D1035BCA11924 and one (1) GMC truck w/ Rosco Distributor, Model# 7000, Serial Number 1GDP7D1G2JV518530, as surplus property; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §1134., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Purchasing Director has requested that he be authorized to dispose of this equipment by way of trade-in; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the specified existing equipment be and hereby are declared surplus property and the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
