Body
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has been awarded a grant from the Heart of America United Way, in the amount of $231,342.00, to be used in connection with the Don Bosco Education Center; and,
WHEREAS, this Center is an alternative high school with a setting for effective interventions which educate students regarding opportunities in life and expose students to alternatives to illegal drugs and alcohol; and,
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has requested matching funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to continue its program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Don Bosco for its Don Bosco Education Center; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
