AN ORDINANCE transferring $17,187.00 within the 2000 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and appropriating $79,175.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2000 Grant Fund to cover the Kidsafe grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, received from the United States Department of Justice and the transfer of matching funds, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the Heart of America United Way regarding this grant.

Body
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice has awarded the Heart of America United Way a grant in the amount of $61,988.00 to cover 75% of the salary of an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and other related costs, for its Kidsafe program; and,
WHEREAS, said grant is subject to a $17,187.00 local match, for which a transfer and appropriation are necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement sets out the understanding of the parties regarding this grant program; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
