Body
WHEREAS, the Della Lamb Community Services youth after school programs target low income youth, ages five to fourteen, and prevents crime, drug usage and abuse by offering positive after school programming structured through educational and recreational opportunities including tutoring, teen clubs, aerobics, and music; and,
WHEREAS, the youth after school program is funded by a grant awarded by the Local Investment Commission (LINC), in the amount of $187,467.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the aggregate amount of $46,666.66 for 2006 and 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a cooperative agreement with Della Lamb Community Services, as a local grant match for the youth after school programs in the amount of $46,666.66, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
