IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Chair of the Jackson County Fiscal Commission to execute a grant agre ment with The Curators of the University of Missouri for the continuation of a substance abuse tra ning program at a cost to the County not to exceed $150,000.00 on the recommendation of the Jackso County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission. Intro RESOLUTION #10871, June 12, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771 1795, and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales ax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and, WHEREAS, the Legislature authorized grant matching funds through Ordinance 2373; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from The University of Missouri at Kansas C ty for its substance abuse training program; and, WHEREAS, the University's substance abuse training program will emphasize training certified couns lors employed by Jackson County treatment providers; provide vocational resources for training and continuing education for professionals; and, apply new knowledge and skills to the practice of tre tment and prevention to improve outcomes of COMBAT funded initiatives; and, WHEREAS, the University's substance abuse training program will continue to emphasize the need for greater participation and inclusion of certified counselors of color; and, WHEREAS, The University of Missouri at Kansas City is in its second year of a five year grant thro gh the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) in the amount of $577,228.00; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1995 proposal from The University of Mi souri at Kansas City; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission recommends continued funding in the amount of a $150,000.00 grant m tch to the CSAT funding from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for The University of Missouri at Kansas City for its substance abuse training program; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with The Curators of the University of Missouri at Kansas City; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to ake all payments, including final payments on this Agreement.
