Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments desire to purchase Ford truck parts and service; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984 recommends the purchase of O. E. M. Ford truck parts and service from Midway Ford Truck Center of Kansas City, MO, under City of Independence, Missouri Contract No. 305-01; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984 requires that for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the purchase under the existing contract be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with certification made at that time within amounts previously budgeted for the spending agency.
